Our research uncovered a unique microbiome living within Teuthowenia pellucida, a deep‑sea glass squid known for its remarkable adaptations to extreme ocean environments. From this microbiome, we identified novel strains capable of producing specialized polysaccharides with significant health potential.

Early studies indicate these marine‑derived compounds can modulate gut signaling pathways, including the stimulation of GLP‑1 (glucagon‑like peptide‑1), a key hormone in regulating appetite, glucose metabolism, and metabolic resilience. By translating deep‑ocean discoveries into human health solutions, we are opening new frontiers in microbiome science and longevity research.
